The Frequently Asked Questions section is devoted to answering common questions about Ucabs/Umhlanga Rocks Taxis reservations.

Question : How do I make a telephone booking?
Answer : A booking can be made by calling our reservations centre
On 0824541577. International callers should call by dialling 027-824541577 or by using +27.

Question : How do I make an online booking?
Answer : Online bookings should be made at least 24 hours in advance and
Must be confirmed in writing by Ucabs reservations centre.

Question : Will you be available at any time of day?
Answer : Whilst the majority of our services run until midnight, we do request
that you inform us if you should be requiring services into the early hours of the morning so that adequate arrangements can be made with our staff to ensure a quality service to you.

Question : Will you be open on public holidays and weekends?
Answer : Our services run 7 days a week, 365 days of the year.

Question : How early should I book airport transfers?
Answer : We recommend that for airport transfers a few hours notice should
be given as we stipulate that clients should depart at least 2hours prior to boarding from Umhlanga and surrounding areas-within a 50km radius from the airport. Whilst we shall endeavour to assist with last minute bookings for the airport, we shall hold ourselves free of any liability should you not get to the airport on time if you book late.
For Cape Town, Johannesburg and other areas, we recommend at least 24hours notice but can’t guarantee this unless availability is confirmed.

Question : How early should I book long distance airport transfers?
Answer : We recommend that this gets book at least a few days in advance.

Question : How early should I book local shuttles?
Answer : We try and assist in anything from 15-30min from time of call.

Question : What should I do if I arrive at Durban Airport without having made prior arrangements?
Answer : If not in a hurry, don’t stress! Call our offices and enquire if we have a cab already at the airport. If we
don’t and you are prepared to wait, then we can have one to you in about 30-60min, depending on availability.

Question : Where do I meet my driver at an airport?
Answer : A driver shall be waiting for you outside the arrival exit door, inside the arrival hall with your
name on a board. Should we have your number and prior arrangements are made, we can try
coordinate that you meet the driver in the hall or outside at a designated vehicle whose details we shall communicate to you.

Question : Am I charged if my flight is delayed?
Answer : Not if flight details are communicated with our offices to prevent us from dispatching a vehicle
However should we not be informed and we have to wait for over an hour, then waiting costs per hourly basis shall apply.

Question : What is your cancellation policy?
Answer : All bookings cancelled at least 24hours prior to dispatch will not incur a cancellation fee.
The 24 hour rule applies to transfer distances of over 50km from our base.
Should it be a localised transfer or a local airport transfer, then so long as it is cancelled a few hours before dispatch times, then we shall not impose any penalties.

Question : Can you guarantee that we will catch our train, bus, coach or flight?
Answer : When booking with the controller, tell him/her your departure times and agree on a pick up time,
location and contact numbers. Whilst we make every effort to safely transport you to your destination within the time frames requested we can’t guarantee the above should situations occur which is out of our control. Kindly refer to our disclaimer policy.
